The aging bounty hunter Darwin arrives at Bernard’s Bar & Repair — a rundown saloon and repair shop on a storm-lashed moon. With him: his prisoner Gertsch, an unpredictable and psychopathic killer. Darwin only wants to get his ship fixed and leave as quickly as possible.

The barkeeper Bernard — a cynic and manipulator — struggles to maintain control over his domain a place where lies, debts, and old grudges boil heavier than the storm outside. Here drink and quarrel the stranded prostitute Billie, trapped in Bernard’s debt, and the mining siblings Jessie and Jacob Pearl, eager to sell a valuable find from their claim. When a Confederation freighter lands, the fragile calm begins to crumble. Commander Valen, desperate to redeem herself after her demotion, enters the bar with her loyal Sergeant Juno and the young, inexperienced Private Cale. With them comes a secret cargo — and a shadow no one can see. Because when Bernard’s service bot Helper accidentally activates a mechanism in the freighter’s cargo hold, all hell breaks loose.

When Gertsch escapes, the night spirals into violence, betrayal, and paranoia. Everyone in the bar is haunted by their deepest fears. No one knows what’s real anymore — or who can be trusted. Valen clings desperately to her mission. Bernard defends his territory. Jessie tries to save her deal. Billie searches for a way out. And Darwin fights not only the others — but himself. Infected with Black Drift, a disease slowly consuming him from within, and running out of the serum that keeps it at bay, time is no longer on his side. Bloody confrontations, wild accusations, and a spiral of violence turn the bar into a powder keg where everyone becomes the enemy. It all ends in a deadly dance. Bernard loses his life, his bar explodes, and the soldiers’ ship is destroyed. Only three escape the inferno: Darwin, broken but alive. Billie, finally free of her past. And Cale, who will never see the world the same way again. 

Bernard’s Bar & Repair is a dark, claustrophobic sci-fi thriller steeped in paranoia, visions, and violence — a story about guilt, freedom, and the cost of survival. And about the moment when it becomes clear that the true enemy doesn’t wait outside — but lurks within.
